Before EU accession, Romanian farmers could access European funds Phare, SAPARD program. After 1 January 2007, financial aid granted by other types of funds, structural funds and European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), which are co-financed private investment projects, part of the Structural Funds and some of the beneficiaries . Romania benefits from the EAFRD to implement the Common Agricultural Policy that is the set of rules and mechanisms applied by all countries in the European Union and governing the production, processing and marketing of agricultural products.
